Thinking of sitting in the mud for an hour or two tommorow to change a seacock. Anyone know how soft it is or how recently dredged?if it hasn't been dredged for a while there should be plenty of porridge to sit in.
Dont know about soft but "Forward Thinking" from CBYC managed to park themselves in the mud as we were going out for a race and were still there and bolt upright when we came back 4 hours later.
Go to CBYC and the photo is the second one down. Feel free to add your comments.![]()

Had a look from the car park at LW today (2.0 Metres predicted).
Couldn't see the bed but the bank looked a bit blathery below the
half-tide level. I was thinking of drying out to have a look around
my UW fittings (especially the Anode). I s'pose a phone call to
Barrage Control might be the way of starting the ball rolling. I'll let you
know what I glean from the Duty Controller.
Used to use Jackson's Bay when I had a smaller boat but I haven't been
there for a while. Weather-dependent, of course, but its hard sand and
as long as you don't sit on the 'step' you should be fine. I might do a
LW Spring recce next weekend. Quite a few boats went there for a
quick look/scrub, etc before the barrage was built. Even saw one of the
ex-navy HLDs being neaped to do some serious work below the
waterline in the early 80's.

I think the mud in Cardiff outer harbour is likely to be too soft for getting out and walking around in.
