How much would you spend on your ensign?

Not sure if I can do it, my embroidery man can only embroider a certain area. But I'll bet that my flag man and the stichy bloke, who makes the flags, could come up with a cracking flag. I see a sort of red ensign, with a little mouse in the corner. Embroideried, no idea why we can not have our blue ensign, every one else seems to have one. So a blue flag, with with a red ensign, then the little mouse.

I'll get my bloke on to it in the morning. So then you will get a proper blue flag defaced.

sounds good Haydn but what about the etiquette police???

We fly a picture of a Cheetah, photographed by my lady wife in the Masai Mara, as we curently boat only in UK waters (red fuel hmmm hmmm).

We have an ensign for travelling further afield, but have not had the occasion to fly it yet.

Thought it about time we got one so popped into the chandlers to pick one up. Only wanted a 1/2 yrd one so picked the first one out which was sewn; saw it priced at £28 so promptly put it back and selected a printed one for £9 as it was the cheapest (still way too much imo).
So...sewn and pricey for you or printed and cheaper? Which would you have chosen and why? Are you bothered or not about having an ensign at all?
Just interested in peoples views here.

just a printed one..dont know how big it is. Think we might have several.
We berth stern to,starboard side to (oddly more or less wherever we go), but as the flagpole is on that side, it is always in the way getting on/off the boat. End result, we dont bother with it.

Literally yesterday I forked out £45.95 for a Sewn 1 1/2 Yard red ensign from Force 4, plus a few quid delivery! I've had a couple of printed ensigns and they were fine, in fact the printed ones fly better as they're lighter, but I just like the look of traditional sewn...

I got through a few printed ensigns on our previous boat - probs mainly because they were left out all weathers (flagpole was up on coachroof and a bit of a fag to get to). Today I've sent for Securicor to bring me a 1yd sewn jobbie - looks a bit quality on the website so fingers crossed. I've also got a new pole (oops, I mean staff) coming to fly (sorry, wear) me new flag from the transom. Should compliment my burgee when it arrives. My brother-in-law thinks I'm a closet raggie with aspirations for flapping cloth in the wind.
