How much to move a 33ft boat?

The new owner of my Jaguar 27 moved the boat from Suffolk to Scotland and using a local Suffolk company cost just under £1000. (5 years ago),
Try several companies in the Lake District area.

try the larger companies,as they have more moves going on, and if you can be flexible with timing, you can sometimes get 25pct or so less, if you can tag onto a move the other way, say.
Having said that I think I was getting quotes for Solent/Cornwall of £500 for 28ft a while back, excl the lifts etc, so maybe man and a van is better !!!

Ours was £400 Ipswich to Cardiff but that was 10 yrs ago. Best to speak to them and see if you can get a return trip like we did.We also needed police escort for one bit.

I agree. If you are flexible you will get a backload. In 2006 I paid £695 for a 30ft from Windermere to Bray on the Thames.

Thanks for all the responses.
I have to say that if I was going to hazard a guess, I would have thought a couple of grand would have been about right so given that most of you think that the price will be about £1K gives me some confidence that I cn easily get the job done for my budgeted £2,000.
The professionals here I come!
Thanks again

Quoted 450-500 quid from Hamble to Torbay for 32ftr - they needed 10 days notice of the date I wanted it done.

This chap did my Ocean 30 from Stalham (Norfolk) to Walton-on Thames five years ago for £500.

Kingsley Farrington, Tel. 01603 666545 Mob 07785 574034. He works the load in with another going more or less the other way and covers the whole of the UK he said.

Anyone have any ideas how much it would cost to transfer a boat by road from the lake district to Salcombe, south Devon? A ballpark figure would do for now.
Thanks

Have you really thought this through?
Salcombe is a pretty awful place with severe overcrowding in the Summer. Plus closed up clothes shops and chippy in the Winter. Overcharging prevalent throughout the year.
You'd be much better off keeping the boat where it is, or else go up to The Clyde.
