How much for a new headsail?

What does the team think is a fair price for a new hanked on genoa? Luff about 9 metres, foot about 5.5 metres. It will be my biggest headsail; I want it in non exotic but high quality dacron or similar materials, not crunchy laminate, for fairly light weather use.

I have had one quote, but would be interested in opinions.

It is a fairly unusual shape I know, low aspect. My boat has an early bermudan rig, very fractional, long boom, big main.

Much easier to ask 3 national sailmakers to quote for the same spec - or to recommend a spec for your requirements. Then you get real figures for comparison rather than trying to use other peoples!

Many sailmakers like Kemps and Crusader have useful information on sails, different types of materials and cuts etc on their websites, so you can do a bit of research first.

Try clicking on the Crusader advert at the top/side of this forum for a quote. Have the different dimensions handy plus any extras like leach battens or furling/hanks .
