So he joined ybw in 2009 and has only posted 8 mesages . are you sure he is from North Wales . By the way we have petrol in the marina .
Probably historical, from the red diesel days. The differential between petrol and diesel meant everyone had diesel enginesThat's a bit of a generalisation/assumption.
I think that's true in the UK, but in the civilised world (Balearic Islands and presumably a lot of other locations ) petrol in marinas is plentiful.
Never really understood why there aren't more petrol pumps in UK marinas, I guess the demand isn't there, but I find it surprising given the popularity of petrol outboards these days.
I was in the marina you could have said hello , have you thought about a rib.Yes, I live in North Wales. I joined in 2009, bought a boat in 2010 but had to sell it before I got on the water due to a marriage breakup. I Am posting now because things are settled and I’m thinking of another boat. I was dodging the rain in Conwy last Saturday. I presume this is ok ?

Ain’t that the truth. Fuel is my least annual cost apart from Seastart.I always thought, and I still believe this, that if you're worrying about fuel costs, don't buy a boat. Yes the fuel consumption is horrendous but unless you are considering some ridiculously long journey, the fuel costs relative to all other costs of boat ownership are not so significant. Most importantly, they are one of the more controllable costs.
With SeawakeLet me know next time you‘re there and I’ll come and say hello. Not really considering a RIB, but I’m doing my power boat 1&2 in a couple of weeks and that’ll be on one, so who knows

Did you come stoke by boat.Good post...
And it's directly proportional to enjoyment, unlike other costs! ?

I filled at a marina, the cute, yeah non PC I know - lady didn’t believe we could take that much fuel. My captain credit card didnt cover the bill and I had to call the boss!
If an option use a road tanker as much cheaper.

Patrick, make sure that Seastoke opens up his 'fun box' when you go to visit him.
From what I had read about the Mobos on the Welsh Riviera, an alcoholic fun box is an absolutely essential item of equipment to have on board.
Rest assured that the size of the fun box is in proportion to the size of the boat, so Roy should have lots to offer you. I think that BruceK has occasionally opined that Roy's fun box can be difficult to access (kept under lock and key?) - but if you get Bruce to help you, you should be able to carry out a successful raid. Good luck!
Yourselves do have a wonderful part of the country to go boating in - I went sailing for a week once out of Conwy many moons ago, and loved it. A different harbour every night, and every one invariably seemed to have a Liverpool Arms pub.
(For some reason we were a dry ship - this was during a yachtmaster course - so we had no fun box on board, and had to make pilgrimages ashore instead).
