I have the offer of a second hand spinnaker pole for a 23' Hunter Duette? I have no idea what one would cost new. Has anyone a rough idea? Just trying to get an iidea of what is a fair price.

Cheers K

Try 50 quid.
A new one can be made up by Z Spar for 23 footer just over a hundred quid, if you do it yourself.

give your local selden dealer a call and ask for a quote. the length of the pole should be the J value of your boat. Bit bigger than your I know but i bought a selden pole that was 4.4m long new this year for £800 squid. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

One thing to watch is that the pole end fits the ring on the mast without binding or locking as the pole moves from beam to beam.

My extendable telescopic job was £130 new ... to suit a boat like yours / mine ..

Extendable telescopic ones can be a pain if not used much - they corrode & seize up. Took me weeks to free mine off a few years ago. probably needs doing again now.

I wonder where my spinnaker is these days?

Funny thing ... mine has specific instructions to NOT oil or lubricate .... like the furling gear - it says to rinse with fresh-water occasionally.

Mines only been used 2x since buying last winter !! Looks nice laid on coach-roof .... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
