Just doing the sums in my head. I only have a small boat, but I am using 14 different tins of gloop to get her on the water:

3 different colours of gloss paint
2 different shades of undercoat
silver enamel on some fittings
metal primer
wood primer
underwater primer
anti fouling
varnish
deks olje #1 (on foredeck.... used to use varnish for this)
woodstain (on thwarts and floorboards)
bitumen paint(in the bilges)

Is this a record?

Humm, all in all sounds quite a colorful craft you have there, must be a joy to behold.
Can I ask, is its named 'Jacob' by any chance ?

Joy is of course in heart of the beholder, but I reckon she looks ok. Only three colours of gloss, white for the hull, blue inside and red for the rubbing strake.

Sounds fine to me.

Likewise, I have white, dark blue and light blue, red antifoul, varnish, the attendent undercoats etc.

Its a lot of old tins!

I too have a project boat; a 15' clinker dinghy that is nearing the end of a big refit, and I must admit that she is having all sorts of paint types and colours too:
1) white inside above floorboards
2) grey bilges and floorboards
3) varnish (or Sikkens) on the thwarts and walestrake
4) dark blue top sides
5) white or blue antifouling
6) red rubbing strake

I am just stripping off the remains of her old paint and it is obvious that she was just painted white all over, inside and out when she was new from the yard...

However, having said that, our Redwing dinghy is just varnished - completely, inside and out with one type of varnish :o
