Why try to antifoul and varnish in marginal March weather when you can do it in half the time in August ? The yard's empty and the hoist available at a moment's notice.
No 'Radio check please', no jet-skiers, and it isn't really that cold.
Oh - and did I mention the half-hundredweight of smokeless every weekend ?
