How many places do you have for storing boat stuff?

Three boats

Five dinghies

House

Two sheds

Fathers Garage

Toyota Hiace Van

Occasional 5m X 5m storeroom in Portugal

.......nothing is ever where you want it to be and where you need it.

Having parked his car outside in Moscow for three years with no problems or deterioration, my dad has finally accepted that modern cars do not require to be kept indoors like those of his youth. His garage at home has now become "the sklad" - Russian for "store" - and contains everything from winter tyres and stepladders to the extension leaf for the table and the big dishes that mum uses when entertaining. Being unheated, it also tends to get used as a walk-in fridge for excess food over Christmas!

Your dad has a mans garage full of manly stuff. Excellent..

My treble garage in Wales is full of sailing stuff. My single garage in Berkshire is full of sailing stuff. My boat is full of sailing staff; my SWMBO is not very understanding so I can not have any sailing stuff inside any house.

I am one of the Gullists with two (almost working) in one of the aforementioned sheds.

The problem occurs, as I see it, when one purchases a boat where the previous owner has swallowed the anchor. I have had nine boats, seven of which fall into this category. Like many, I can't bear to throw anything away - 'cos you never know........

This is, of course, a trait which I abhor in SWMBO whom I am constantly telling 'If you have not used it in the previous two years - throw it away'.

Hypocrite? Moi!!!!

I am currently storing some boat stuff in my cellar for two people, one of whom asked me to keep it there because, and I quote, "if the Missus ever sees it I'm history". I've even got my own boaty stuff in the cellar, lounge (for some reason my LJ lives there), bedroom (on top of the wardrobes) and in the back of the car and I don't even own a boat.

Keep meaning to have a grand day at the boat jumble.
Meaning to.

I have reduced the pile a bit, but there is so much valuable marine equipment which is bound to come in useful the day after I dispose of it. Why, only last year, I was able to come up with a bit of marine ply that has been in the shed for over 10 years. Once I had cleaned it up, cut it to size, and reduced the thickness by 1/4 inch it fitted well, except for the bit missing out of the corner, but no one will ever notice. Saved me at least 3 quid.

You still got that spare toilet?
