No. If you hit heavy weather you will use much more fuel. Would be nice if you'd got a feel for how much fuel your boat used in different conditions. I have a brightly painted 45 gallon oil drum in the lazeret?? Cellar! Can be fed to fuel inlet by transfer pump. Or internally if I wanted. Very hard to determine fuel use, in differing conditions.

If you are not sure about your cruising range at different speeds, then you should think about taking your boat out in different conditions and getting to know it's consumption at different speeds before you think of undertaking long range trips.
