How many hours on your engine ?

averaged 300 hours each year since 1996 = 3900, that's when we got them, they date back to 1973' ish, not sure how many they had on them when purchased second hand. Ford Sabre's 180 horse power. They refuse to give in.

Hi Kev how are you. We have KAMD43's on the F36. Have you had any of the compressor belt tensioners go? We've had plenty, and the aint cheap

Ohh A chance to gloat! Volvo owners eat your heart out. Lister HRW6, 3700 hours. That means I have just 36,300 hours to go to it's first 40,000 hour major overhaul.

Thorneycroft T80, in the boat since around 70''s, previously until 4 years ago a hire cruiser, now private and somewhat refurbished but having a quieter life. Assuming 38 years of life, 35 of those in commission for say 4 months of the year when hired, at say: 6 hours a day perhaps? That makes around 23,500 hours, without adding what I've done. I just wonder how many times its been rebuilt? It runs fine and very little bore wear when I had the head off two years ago.

Thats encouraging. My Kad43`s have just done 140 hours. They should give me a few years yet then.
I did chuckle at one of the local fishemen who was very disgruntled having had to have one new piston and rings on an 8 cyl gardner. "Bloody things only done 68000 hours" he snorted!
