Cos there sure as hell are some bored people on here getting a bit narkey with one another. This is starting to be unfunny guys!

I dont know about any bitterness with group members, must be the January blues :-) but i cant wait to get back out again, but will probably be April at the earliest as i like the warm weather, what a wimp hey LOL

Went out last sunday for a couple of hours was great, not a sinner around.

However I obviously did a crap job at making sure cover was properly in place on return as got a call from the marina today to say that the front and back halves of the cover had separated at the zip in big winds and said zip was now buggered. Luckily marina staff spotted it fairly promptly , called me and put the tonneau cover on which was onboard (Note to self, next winter use tonneau and not main covers). Hopefully can get cover repaired - anyone recommend someone in Poole area?

Oh well roll on spring, at least the days are drawing out now ha ha.

Jon.

I think you're onto something here /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Last run out 30th Dec for 3.5 hours. Before that 21st Dec and all my posts are friendly /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Well I don't know what the problem is, I was out on the 10:30 bridge out of Cobbs last Sunday, out of the harbour (some people don't know there is an way out to the sea!) and out across the bay ending up at Newton Creek for a spot of lunch, just a couple of other boats- lovely, and then back to Poole and after a fuel top up in on the berth - thats what it's all about. So with all the other trips since Christmas already at about 200 miles and its only the 10th Jan!!

Just because some people dont have a boat does not mean that we (who do have boats) have to be careful what we say,

This is a boat forum, and those who used to have boats may be able to advise us newbies who wish to learn. I like some of their bits its great. But if they feel upset by the fact we mention things like when you going out then maybe they should not come on here, but Im sure they dont.

If you do I give you warning now I ordered a brand new boat in Oct and its due soon and there will be 1000s of photos posted on here when its unwrapped, like all new proud mums and dads.

If that will offend anyone sorry but tough /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Probably this Saturday, weather window permitting, as it is just over a week since the last sunny, calm and uncrowded /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif run out. Also I have the need to catch some fish.

It also guarantees a few hours without access to the "forum member slagging" sessions that seem to be predominating at the moment. BTW, I do enjoy sarcasm, dry humour and leg-pulling but that isn't the same as the point-scoring and agro some YBW members seem to get their fix on (not so bad in the mobo area though).

This is my first full year as a forum member and I have to say that the recent decline in forum content and constructive postings has devalued the site a lot, it can't encourage new or "background" members to post and get involved. Isn't there a special area for S.A.D. types to retreat into?

Luckily I also belong to another forum where the members are using their boats throughout the year so no nastiness just some frustration with missed weather windows and plenty of positive posts when trips are made. Refreshing.

'Spose I should have posted this in Scuttlebutts for max flack /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

A thought - if boating is a therapy perhaps red diesel should be available on prescription!

23 February pay annual insurance.
7 March pay for service and recommission.
14 March pay annual dryberthing.

To hell with the expense I'll be back on the water very soon /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Can't see the point of taking the boat out of the water these days. Global warming, and a reasonably sheltered marina, mean no real icing problems (at least so far). Thus, out last Sunday for a couple of hours - quick blast down from Tower Bridge to QE II and back, only the police to wave to and a glorious day. Only problem was the sun was so bright and so low, I really needed the shades.

It's great getting it out in winter.

Well, I was out last Saturday, pity about the SW7 (that's wind speed not a postal district, by the way). Still, it was good fun bouncing around for a while, then borrowed a mooring for a short snooze waiting for the tide to come back.

Guess where this is then?

Out Sunday, gorgeous.

Was going to pick up a buoy and overnight in Newtown Creek but VHF routine weather & safety predicted force 8/9. Surely not I though in such lovely conditions but decided to heed their warnings and return back to base via Cowes.

They weren`t wrong Sunday night / Monday !!

Alway listen to the voices........

..... that come out of the VHF !
