How long do I remain boatless ?

Boat sold in October, so I am now looking forward to a boring Winter without worry of: slowly filling bilges; flat batteries; damp boat interior; mooring fees; insurance renewal; checking / changing seacocks; hull scraping; antifouling; excessive zinc wear; depreciation; theft; a myriad of small repairs and associated maintenance tasks.

Plus in addition to the sale proceeds I am already > £1k the better due to no more mooring fees and the refund on the insurance.

Something is definitely wrong as I have not yet started ploughing through boat for sale listings !

Ask yourself if you jet off to the sun for a week or two and find yourself down by the marina , you need a boat.
 
Buy a small rib Trevor! I used to think they were the devils boat ( like stern drives) but having bought a very venerable 3.1 metre Avon and putting my new 15 efi on it I'm using that more than Zoom currently.

I've been to the IOW and racked up 55 miles in a weekend for just 12 litres of fuel.

It's back to basics boating and full foulies required most of the time.....
 
We were had longer than anticipated between boats twice and didn‘t like it. Slow learners perhaps but we won’t be doing it again! ;)

I am looking to upgrade but keeping my current boat. So little coming onto the market currently. You are not missing much.
 
1993 Corvette just come on the market in Newark - just saying :LOL: :LOL: :LOL:

We are umm'ing and arr'ing about whether to keep our F-rib now we have a bigger boat or not, I do like the flexibility of being able to drop it in anywhere or just fold up and chuck in the boot when we go on hols.:unsure:

As you know we have a boat at Foulkes (where you are missed Trevor!) and a share in one in Spain. Having enjoyed Med boating for the first time in October and only visited our boat in the UK twice since September, I am tempted to sell up too. First world problems eh!

I think you will get to next Easter and then all will become clear! Either you will either miss the lure of the sea or be thankful that you don't have to do the anti-fouling! :)

Many congratulations on the sale Trevor. She didn’t hang around long. Someone has got a lovely boat. I think next April/May might see you wandering along the Hamble looking at boats.
