Here on the west coast of Scotland, since the end of October we have been pounded with heavy rain and constant gales....looking at the week ahead http://meteonet.nl/aktueel/brackall.htm it looks like things are going to remain the same.

Heavy hailstorm here at the moment with wind gusting to 40kts....the ground is so wet that even our free draining sandy soil is waterlogged.

Becoming rapidly pisssssseeeeddddd off with it!!

Paul.

har .. yes, would you like to ship some of that water down here? despite almost constant rainfall, there's still a hosepipe ban ...

Your right!. If there was some of the heat from this global warming I would be growing rice in my Paddy field of a garden. Well maybe a duck pond would be the alternative solution. I've never seen the ground so wet or saturated.
Is there no end to this misery.

Thanks for that, I'm flying back from Florida to Glasgow on wednesday - 40knot winds on me boat I can live with, taking off / landing in a plane I hate. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

At least looking at the chart the wind should be SW so blowing right down Runway 23 at Glasgow...........welcome home!!!

Is it possible for you to cruise through the Cally and enjoy the lee side of the Brit Isles?

No such thing as a lee side is just as wet, cold and windy in the south east of Scotland.

I am in the process of rebuilding the frame to put a new cover over my yacht. The old one was torn to shreads with the wind.

For the last three days it was impossible to stand on the deck as it had a layer of ice.

This morning it was hailstones for half an hour.

Hope to get the tarpaulin on today before the snow comes next weekend.

Strangely enough it never seems to rain on the Isle of Wight. I suppose that's why so many people keep their boats near it.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yea and you can keep it then if going what I saw on the Solent last time I was down that way....I could have walked over to the Isle of White on the decks of all the boats!!!......on second thoughts give me the wind and rain and lets hope it keeps our waters of the west coast of Scotland remote and deserted for us few to enjoy!!!

Paul.

You should move to Finland, we have steady +6 c and they say it will be like that next 3 - 4 weeks. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

They do? We have the same now, but it is raining and blowing as well. They say we will get that Scottish storm on Thursday and after it passed it will get cold and start to snow. So you should get that a few days later?
