How is Match, after 4 months JFM?

Finally read the article in last months MBY. Stuck in KL airport, so catching up with stuff looking on enviously. Some great pics.

Has your spec worked out to your satisfaction? Anything that has exceeded expectation, or still needs fettling? Any more changes in the pipeline?

Are there any problems with sealing the stabiliser shafts? I assume that there is quite a lot of moment vertically on the shafts, hence challenging to seal long term?

Honest answer is I am totally loving it. I,ll type more later. I have the skauen family, shareholders of sleipner, on board right now. They're experimenting with new software for the stabs, not that there was anything wrong before. They have also fitted a new hydraulic pump for at anchor stab, which is near silent so that has eliminated the hum I had before

There is a heavy duty film crew on board and they want to shoot video including underwater of the stab fins flapping. So I,ll post more pics later when have more time. I,m underway right now

But yes, loving the boat. Nothing major has gone wrong and Essex boatyards plus fairline have been fantastic on fixing the little snags. Best toy I ever bought.t. I don't agree that idea where the best two days are the buy/sell days

Quite right. Freexample that list doesn't include days at anchor in Lavezzi eating cheeseburgers, and it should, imho.

hi jfm.....i was lucky enough to have a fairline guy give me a personal tour over MATCH at execl in january...BL**DY STUNNING....please forgive a stupid question but how different in "handling" is there, when fuel is full, compared to low fuel ??...i except that speed n acceleration etc, but how about in heavy weather ? do you have trim tabs, or a different system? how much weight difference is there? sorry if this has been posted before , but would of missed it............yes!, i am dam nosey..

You know where I am at mo 'tother side of world, in sweltering heat down an engine room (mind you a fab engine room) and all I get offered is some weird looking things with tenticles and other things that look back at you from your soup and you go and post that :-(

LOL, sorry T. if you're not happy with the Taiwanese cuisine...! But whenever you and E. wish to go for a swim in warm and clear waters, and have a decent Italian dinner, you know how to reach me!
I can't offer an engine room as outstanding as on an Outer Reef (yet!), but I can assure you that those shrimps were terrific even if eaten on a much more humble vessel...!

And in reply to other questions - with apologies for the O/T:
Oh yes, I definitely meant raw. Marinated in lemon and good olive oil (Frantoi Cutrera is my favourite, just google for it) for at least three hours - nothing else. Absolutely fantastic.
And yes, they were fished in local waters, though not by myself. My pusher is a local fisherman, below is one of his facebook pics, to give the idea...
Re. the colour, taz, trust me, they weren't cooked. Maybe it's just the phone camera, coming to think of it they were a tad more reddish than in the previous pic.

Back in the UK now and picking up on the news. Thanks for the updates. Being a bit anoraky I am very interested in the stabs, forces/moments/sealing etc. Great to hear of excellent customer management by Fairline/EBY. All too rare these days.

Taiwanese cuisine is OK, if you go to the right restuarant. Had my fill of Chinese last week in Beijing and KL.

Sorry if I can't address your very specific question on stabs shafts; otoh, neither did any of the other posts so far, I reckon.

Happy to discuss Far East cuisine, so no apology needed. We have offices in Japan, China, Korea and Malaysia, so I receive regular exposure, and all have their merits. Least favorite is Malysian, too sweet for me.

Oh yes, indeed. And you didn't mention Thailand! That's my favourite, in that part of the world.
Actually, I have nothing against cheesburgers, either. I had a rather tasty one at Byron frinstance, the last time I've been in London. Believe it or not, finding a decent burger in IT is quite a task.
