How good are Sealine 290\'s?

I always liked them. I know they are a development of the early 285 Ambassador but they are similar size and layout to an S28. Not really looking for one but have noticed there values have taken a big dip down from Mid £40k/early £50k to £20k/£30k. Seems like a great boat for the same money as a 24ft american sports cruiser.

Nice one in Italy Here and it is Diesel for £20k or This One in Menorca is £24k and Diesel as well.

Nearer to home is this one in Plymouth Here for £30k and there are lots more.

I know S28's are now available from £40k-£60k but are they worth the extra?

Cheers

Nautorious I think your trying to talk down the market in preparation to buying one. I have a 290 ambassador twin 200hp diesels up for sale for £39,950 she’s a fantastic boat for the money, yes I would except an offer but not that low. Anyone that has one for sale, stick it out for your money, what could you get to replace it at those figures, not a lot. If she sells she sells, if she doesn’t Iv still got a great boat.

I think you are right, a condition 290 with two diesels is well priced at £39k. You shouldn't need to discount heavily below that figure.

Hi Rob,

Not trying to talk down the market at all. I was looking for an S34 and saw how cheap the asking prices were and wondered why. At those prices it comes into many other peoples price range and if yours is clean £39,950 still seems good value.

I just like finding deels and in the past quite a few people on here have benefited from it.

Good luck selling yours

The two European offerings seem to be a bit cheap?

The Plymouth one about right for petrols, I would think £39k looking for sensible offers would be spot on for a nice one with twin diesels.
BTW, sorry I'm not in the market but good luck with the sale

She's worth what someone will pay for her. You may decide that if you can't sell for close to £39K you'll keep her, and that's fair enough, but that in itself doesn't make her worth that on the market.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating, if she sells for (say) £35Kish then you're quite right (and you may be) but until that happens what you think she's worth sadly has no bearing on what you may actually be able to achieve.

The people asking prices in the £20K's won't be doing it for fun, they'll be doing it because they can't get higher prices.
