How Far !

That would be a nice view if there wasn't a ruddy great boat blocking it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Oh, about 100 miles, North Staffs to North Wales. Takes about 2 hours and it's quite a nice run. We average about 2 weekends a month.

178.2 miles
2 hrs 34 mins best (Friday PM) upto 5 hrs (Friday Bank Holidays).
Usually Every 3rd weekend & 5 weeks between June - July - August.

Managed 90 odd days aboard last year & well on target to break 100 days this year.
Think I might try & get a rebate for the council Tax for three months. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

About 1200 miles but in time terms it's (on a Friday)...

Leave desk 1625, catch 1633 train across the road to LGW, 1820 AerLingus or 1830 Easyjet to Nice, arrive 20.20 or 20.30 (UK time), Nice is a v quick airport so always 8 minutes from plane wheels touching tarmac until I'm in the car, 15-20mins to boat so arrive before 9pm (UK time). So 4.5 hours, but 2hours+ of that is me in a seat and someone else driving so can do a bit of work or other useful stuff, so I don't count it as wasted time. I feel the time wasted travelling (walking, queueing, generally not free to do anything else, as is the case when you're driving a car) is perhaps 2 hours. Not bad imho, when these sort of colours are at the other end

Guys
Thanks for the feedback. I was sitting here thinking Friday night 155 mile drive and the wind blowing F6. I now feel that I practically live next to the boat compared to some.
Just to confirm
I dont want to live local to the boat
I dont want perfect clear blue sea
I dont want non stop sunshine

Im English, wouldnt know what to do !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the great comments

35 miles, 45 mins weekdays, 60 at the weekend as the old duffers come out in droves.

Enables me to get the dirty work done so that SWMBO thinks boating is a gas when she accompanies me.
