can anyone point me towards a website which would guide me how far up the thames it's prudent to cruise, mast down, in a 5', 6' or 7' draught sailing yacht please ? (both for overnight moorings & water depth)

Well, charted depths are getting down to 2m or less by the time you get to Blackfriars and down to little more than a metre by the time you get to Westminster. I would think your biggest problem would be finding a mooring that would take you at low tide unless the boat can dry out. Even where you have 3 or 4 metres in the deep channel, you have mud banks that dry out along the embankments. You are not going to be popular dropping anchor in the middle!

Do you mean tidal or none tidal? We draw 4' and the hardest moments are either mooring bankside (we have learnt where it is ok) and the stretch beyond Old Windsor lock.
