The hole has to be just the right size for the rivet, 'duralac' anti corrosion paste between joined surfaces.
Question - do you need to use Durulac if your using Monel rivets to attach alu mastfoot to alu mast?

Has anyone tried this type of riveter. I ask because the lazy tong type can be awkward to handle if you are up the mast, and the one handed type are far too small and weak.
First time up the mast (halfway) For me.
Read loads on here on various riveting methods, I've got a standard type so know their limitations.
So splashed out on this. It's an attachment to fit a cordless drill.

You do need both hands but it works like a dream, money well spent.

If you use monel rivets to fix aluminium to aluminum you are certain to get galvanic corrosion. See here for explanation and details:Question - do you need to use Durulac if your using Monel rivets to attach alu mastfoot to alu mast?
