How do you organise your food on a long passage?

I don't understand how bread can go wrong? it's just flour, water oil yeast and seasoning. Kneading it and resting are important but then as a thick pizza base it cooks in 10-14 mins. As a loaf a bit slower but we never found it used much gas, in a well insulated oven once it's up to temp there's hardly any gas used. Hobs on the other hand just let the heat disappear out the hatch or warm up the cabin.
