How do you clean Treadmaster?

SWMBO likes that too and one now on order. But no good for the Treadmaster - there is about half a football pitch of it on the Kipper
Would be reminiscent of army punishment fatigues :)

The same as yourself.

Will not be using it on the treadmaster. I have some on the boat but not too much.

It is just for SWMBO to use when cleaning normally inaccessible bits.

I don't know yet whether it will be 'another nice to have toy' or how much it will be of practical use.

But when SWMBO asks for tools to clean the boat who am I to object?

I was never in the forces although I was the British Army Cadet mile champion way back in 56 when in the school cadets.

i found trying to clean tredmaster was a waste of time in temrs of cosmetics. the best looking solution is to scrub all the rubbish off by hand (or jet wash I suppose) until all the little channels between the diamonds are clear.

once the texture is right and the crud has been removed, tredmaster's own paint makes a lovely job of restoring the colour.

used it on various bits of the old boat as they needed it and the result was great every time.

SWMBO read your post yesterday and said 'I WANT'

Ordered it with the set of heads yesterday and it has arrived this morning.

It looks very good. Even came with batteries in it.

We will be working on the boat today so it will be well tried out (by SWMBO)

Do you think she will try cleaning with it too?:D

At risk of resurrecting an ancient thread I'm struggling with a large deck area of filthy green and slimy Treadmaster abandoned through a year of lockdown and a further year of enforced long-covid absence.
My mini Karcher gets the worst off but it's literally a centimertre by centimetre drudge and the result is by no means adequate without multiple additional centimetre by centimetre passes...and I've got a LOT of deck. That way will take half a week. The clever circular rotating patio cleaner attachement that is so, so good on stone has little effect on this.
Does PatioMagic actually remove the remains of algal staining? Make removal easier after it's killed it? Kill future growths?
Would spraying the deck with Oxy Bleach solution lift the dirt?
Bleach?
Scrubbing brush and dhobey-dust...?

Suggestions and advice welcome.

Just done mine and it looks like new, about 3 years since last done, with an intermediate scrub with a scrubbing brush. I used a jet wash, no detergent, close in with the nozzle. You see the impact of the jet quite easily. It takes time as a pass with the jet doesn't always remove the grime.

My jet wash is the Kercher K3 model. After the effort I have used Wet and Forget on the deck, applied with a pump up, 5 litre garden sprayer. Follow the instructions.

At my marina there are some professionals who use battery powered rotary drills and scrubbing heads. The spray and soapy solution on the area and use the drill to clean. I have never tried this but it seams to work well, but takes time.

Good luck with your clean.

Regarding bleach, I have used neat on dirty, hard surfaces and left overnight with amazing results in the morning, once cleaned off. There was no evaporation, a risk using it on a deck if outdoors plus unknown impact om Treadmaster.

My advice would be to get the worst off with the Kercher, then spray Wet and Forget, which is designed to clean over the season. Repeat a few months in with Wet and Forget. Follow the instructions, of course.

Can you expand on 'patio magic...couple of weeks'?
What happens, what does it do in a couple of weeks that it doesnt do in a couple of days?
Can you use the boat in the meantime or should the patio magic be left alone to do its stuff (unwashed by seawater and footfall for instance?)

Sometimes a couple of days is enough. We just spray it on and forget it. The rain does the rest.

Patio magic/wet &forget is better applied with a large paintbrush on treadmaster. You can better work it into the surface for maximum effect. It works best if you have a few dry days after application so it can get to work. It isn't a cleaner so will only kill the active growth. The treadmaster will still need cleaning. We have had some success with various suds and stiff brushes but the pressure washer was ultimately the weapon of choice. Our treadmaster had an unbelievable amount of growth on it and now looks almost perfect. It is a war of attrition but a reapplication of wet and forget via the paintbrush method three times a year or so keeps the deck in check.
