On some of these threads there are photo's (I think) as there is a little square with colours in it. I presume you have to open this square in order to see the photo ??. Well I have tried and cannot get any of them to open up. I have tried right click=nothing happens. I have tried left click still does not open HELP.

Little square with a red cross? Usually means the poster has cocked up posting the picture. If its just the system playing up right clicking and then clicking "show Picture" sometimes works.

sometimes right clicking and then looking at "properties" enables you to get a link or figure out whats wrong.

Sometimes its just a total balls-up.

Thumbnail pics should open full size if left clicked

Below I have deliberatly left off the g of jpg of a picture file.
right click on the red cross and look at properties and you'll see what I mean. copy, paste and add the g then youll be able to see the pic (not very interesting ... could have found one of Lakey's worst i suppose but the one I'm thinking of would have got me thrown off the forums!)

Vic S has got it right - it's an indication that the link to the picture isn't working and there could be a variety of reasons for this, viz:

- the wording of the link (or url) is wrong or incomplete
- the picture is contained in a password protected website
- the website in question doesn't allow links to other sites, to prevent over-use of their bandwidth
- some other reason

In most cases, this means you - and the rest of us - won't be able to see the picture, whatever we do. However, before you give up, try right-clicking on the picture and selecting "properties". You'll then see a field for "address", which will contain something like this: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y219/machurley/Copyofsilkie5.jpg (the link to Machurley22's picture above). Copy this link, paste it into the address field at the top of your browser page and hit "Go". Either you will be taken to the page that the picture is on (and may find that it then displays when you come back here), or you'll get some kind of message which may well explain why you're not getting the picture - almost certainly for one of the reasons above.

Hope this helps.

Can you currently see a 'little square' where there should possibly be a photograph, in any of the forums and point us (collectively) towards it?

In this way we might be able to see what you see.

Hi David, I am trolling through the forums and at present cannot find one as soon as I do I will let you know which site it is on
