I a trying to get cross references for some Volvo Penta belts

accessory belt 966912
timing belt 859773
I do not have any PK numbers ( VP does not show them on the packaging)

and where in the UK is the best supplier.

Good Evening!

The belts of my VP D 4-225 are 6 PK 2065

I braught the Volvo Penta Belts to the car part dealer and he told me the spare part number results of

the sum of the ribs, in my case 6 and the length of the Circumference in millimetres.

With a pencil he made a mark on the outside and used a tape meassure to go around the belt.

The price for a Continental belt was 25% of the Volvo belts.

Perhaps this will help you to find the right part.

Cordially!

Stefan

As long as they are a reputable manufacturer they will be as good as vp belts - who just buy them but marked VP! As mentioned, other belts much cheaper - I always try & buy Gates belts.

As I earned my money many years in a garage and later at Continental, tyre manufacturer and automotive supplier, Hannover,

I asked my colleagues if we are the original supplier for Volvo Penta with belts.

After a deep check in the catalogue the said yes.

6 different prints on the belts, but all the same size and quality like in the aftermarket.

Had never problems with original service parts , not in cars and not with my boats.

Just be aware the cross references are..well that!
It is as well to check the specs, and especially the length. 10mm can mean you are out of tensioner bolt length.
Autodoc ( which will come from Germany) should be able to help. Usually up to half a dozen alternatives. Personally I stick to Gates and Continental, but possibly for no good reason!
What engine?

On my TMD22,
Alternator Belt 966912 can be replaced with Gates 7385

Timing Belt 859773 can be replaced with Gates 5190

Just replaced ther timing belt on my engine (usuall;y do this every 3 to 4 years) The replacement Gates belt cost me £38. You you need to look around to get this price. Parts 4 Engines list the belt at £71 plus VAT.

Cheers
Nigel

In the past I have used
Gates 6219MC, and also Gates 7385.
Its possible some numbers might have superceeded other numbers.

The latest one I have which is carried onboard as spare is 6219MC, which was purchased from Parts4Engines.

7385 is listed on the Gates website, but the 6219MC is not. However a google search returns plenty of results for 6219MC. As far as I can tell, the only difference between the two is a 3mm difference in the effective length

With most of the websites, including the two mentioned already, type in the VP part number.
As I mentioned, just check the specs.
