His boat is at anchor. He has his red/white/green lights on at the top of his mast. I've tried to convince him that if another boat hits his boat, his insurance are very, very unlikely to pay out, because he is not displaying an all-round, white anchor light.

It's been eight months now. I give up.

If he's showing lights as if under way, it needs someone with a motor cruiser and a set of mega loud air horns to motor out there about 0300 hrs. when he's turned in his bunk. Lay off his starboard side up close head on and give him a few blasts. Don't do it if he's got a weak heart.

Maybe he is colour blind?

When I last used culatra the anchorage was for those who couldn’t take the ground inside the nice, cable free, sandy lagoon..

I expect you’ve got running water, electricity and cold beer in fridges now😄 ( and sky lit bright with masthead lights)

Perhaps you should.

If other peoples Stupid isn't causing you any drama then simply let it be their problem and not yours

Agree. But, despite him being a stubborn German, he's a good person at heart and he's on a very tight cruising budget, so am just trying the "prevention is better than....."

If he's on a tight budget perhaps you could donate your "spare" plug-in-hoist-up anchor light?
