The number of tracks shown on the screen around home waters is too many. I want to keep tracks going but restart them. The instructions, when followed to the letter, do not allow them to be removed. The delete soft key is greyed out. So hide/show tracks is not appropriate as I want to see the current track.

Am I missing something?

Are you selecting the route by highlighting it in the route list before erasing it .... or selecting it by moving the cursor over it on screen. The cursor has to be carefully position so try both methods. Only waypoints associated only with that particular route will be erased.

Obviously the route for deletion/erasure cannot be the one you are following.

Hi I am not on my boat but on the c120 go to navigation then tracks, edit soft key, then you should get a list of tracks if you have not saved any in the past you will have only one which will contain all the tracks you have made select that or the ones you want to delete and I think, soft key delete then, are you sure select yes and they will be gone for ever.

That's what I'm doing but the soft key is greyed out so I'm can't delete them. Any idea why it is greyed out?

Just a thought, are you mixing up tracks and routes? Perhaps you haven't stored any tracks and that would explain your inability to delete them. Do you routinely turn tracks on to log where you have been? Or are you referring to routes that you have created manually before setting off?

I have a C90W and have created and deleted tracks without a problem.

That's a good point. In my reply post #2 I'm obviously talking about routes rather than saved tracks. I've never saved tracks as there didn't seem to be any point but I do sometimes save waypoints and routes.

However, I think the process for erasing tracks is the same as for routes except you start with "edit" the tracks list rather than "edit" the route list or position the cursor over a track rather than a route.

You mention that hide/show tracks (I assume you mean routes) is not appropriate (again I assume routes) because you want to see the current track (route?). Why don't you simply turn off individual routes and only leave the current one visible.

Just to clarify things, did you mean routes? If not, do you regularly record tracks for a particular reason? I do it sometimes when creeping in somewhere with a difficult approach, but not very often. It gives me extra help get out if things go pear shaped in the middle of the night. The track is a known safe exit route to use in conjunction with transits, bearings on lights etc.

Easy to make old routes visible again as needed (assuming you've given them sensible names:D).

OK, finally cracked it.

I really, really meant just tracks - not routes.

I rang Raymarine and their suggested solution did not work. Sadly, nor did any of the splendid options in previous posts. The 'delete tracks' option remained greyed out and not available.

The answer: Navigation Options.
Tracks.
Stop/Start - choose stop.
Option came up 'discard track'
Chose 'Y'
Track went - Hurrah!!
Back to Stop/Start. Chose 'Start'
Cancel, Cancel, Cancel.

Back to main screen and all those pesky old lines are gone. Start a new set of tracks now for this year.

In case you wanted to know.
