How can I remove streaks on my dodger glass

I have an 18 month old dodger with clear panels. Some of the panels are still clear but the front one has areas that are badly streaked. I have washed with soapy water then polished them with the recommended cleaner but to no avail.

They are still streaky.

What am I doing wrong?

I normally use toothpaste for this sort of cleaning job, You can use a clean soft cotton cloth or as I do use your fingers.

I'd be interested in any solution as the aluminum framed windows on our Fulmar are getting what appear to be aluminum related smudges and streaks, not responded to my attempts with kitchen cleaner.

For the sake of clarity, what in American usage is called a dodger in British usage is known as a sprayhood.

That got me intrigued.

Isinglass: "a substance obtained from the dried swim bladders of fish".
But also: "Thin transparent sheets of mica called "isinglass" were used for peepholes in boilers, lanterns, stoves, and kerosene heaters because they were less likely to shatter than glass when exposed to extreme temperature gradients. Such peepholes were also used in "isinglass curtains" in horse-drawn carriages and early 20th century cars".

Vinyl would be more usual, but perhaps called something else over there.
