Recently purchased a Shetland 500, none of the meters working was told they were ok probably a wire fallen off or fuse.Found that there were no power connections at all to the panel.have got the volt meter working but need help with the log.The cable from the impeller transducer is plugged to the back of the meter via a 3 pin connector wires red/black/blueand marked on the meter as +ve/-ve/ and P, also goes to a 3 way connector block with no connections to it.what should I connect to the block. ie power plus and minus but what else and to what colours ? does anyone know a way of checking that the meter and impeller are ok without connecting ie with a DVM, cant find any info on the WWW the paddle wheel in the transducer rotates freely.

have you solved your problem ? i just bought a yazaki paddlewheel style log/trip meter, and have the instruction booklet if this helps, i bought it to replace the one on my new (to me) roberts25. trouble is the thru hull on the yacht is narrower than the "sender" of the new unit, let me know your model number and i'll scanand email the relative parts of the manual, hopefully we have the same model, if so you might be able to provide dimensions of the thru hull, cheerrs Peter

Peter thanks for your reply I had just about given up with this problem, thought perhaps I was the only one using old technology(ie its an analogue meter). I cant get the info for a couple of days but will check the sender diameter for you and get back... in the meantime perhaps you could email any circuit diags in your manual relevant to an analogue meter to me. pce.jce@talktalk.net I'll get back to you asap... Patrick
