We've just put our Elan 333 up for sale. It's in Corfu. The broker says he mostly sells to Brits "because Germans tend to go to German brokers etc".
As the Elan isn't a bog standard Med cruising boat, we need to appeal to keen sailors who recognise its sailing qualities ... And who may well not be Brits looking in Corfu. No disrespect to Brits in Corfu. Has anyone actively tried to work with a French German Dutch or Italian broker? We've got the boat on yacht market and Apollo duck. So far the only contact has been from Dutch people, so maybe that's enough. But I don't want to leave any stone unturned - it's a bit of a niche boat I guess.
Any suggestions welcome, as ever.

This model is sought after for cruiser racing as it's no slouch on the racecourse. So look at somewhere competetive sailing occurs.
My first thought is Malta, no language problem in one sense, and things like the Rolex Middle Sea Race emanate from Malta, evidence that there is a core of knowledgable race oriented types in the clubs there.Royal Malta coming to mind.So perhaps send a friendly letter to the Secretary there and they might assist you in introducing the right persons to purchase your fine craft.
Good luck with the sale.

He can't be much of a broker if he only getting the attention of Brits , I would have a word with David at network in Lefkas or Steve in the Marina in Lefkas .
The really problem is prices it right if you want to sell .
If you plain to sell private consider re moving the broke cost before putting an ad in , it make look better .

I can recommend Pinnacleyachtsales.com in Gouvia marina, Colin managed to sell my boat within a week of advertising to an Austrian. Of course as Vic says you have to price it right. I looked at the advertised prices of similar boats and pitched mid range then expect to finally sell at 10% below that. Good luck.

You could try leboncoin in France, it is free site and shifts a lot of boats, among many other items. You will need to write your ad in French.

Thanks for that excellent idea. Tried various clubs, Malta included with no joy but a broker in Malta is interested and enthusiastic. We shall see.
