I`m new at this, so here goes . These pics were taken on our last trip, it`s not coastal but this is still boating fun.The location is York, on the River Ouse North Yorkshire

I lit the barbecue with the intention of generating plenty of heat, as it wasn't a warm evening.

Using a combination of fuel types, plenty of lighter cubes, and a tender pump, I exceeded my original target by a fair margin.

Nobody could approach closer than 5 feet without singing hair. The metal grill went soft and drooped by 2 inches: just the thing for cremating hamsters or smelting old jewellery.

Of course, it was totally impossible to cook anything on it, and it collapsed into several piles of cold white ash within 30 minutes.
Swmbo was not impressed.

Good stories and posts people.

An honourable mention to scifann2, very nice.... River Ouse, sounds like the cruising grounds of forumite Tinkicker, keep an eye out for an Irish wolfhound helming a 20' Bayliner with loud music blaring :)
