Personally I'd go for a tumble dryer first, there's much more room in it and it does have form stability, the washing machines go to windward like a Dubliner on pickled eggs and guinness.

Re: Miele

A german friend we know says she was given a washing machine by her husband on their 10th wedding anniversary. 26 years on the husband has recently died, the washing machine is still going strong. She recently replaced the washing machine with a new one, so now only replacement husband required. Ooh and she is a bit hard-hearted too, mocking me for being worrried when swmbo disappeared for two hours. I said it was alright for her - she always knows the exact location of her husband.

Anyway, the right stuff is a Miele. You need the WT945, very silent, incl spin and tumble drier. We have one of these. Unfortunately the front instructiony part of the one in the boat was all in italian. So, we bought a uk one for home so now swmbo knows lots of italian, provided that we only ever visit laundrettes. Warning: the stainless steel stuff on some domestic appliances stuf isn't "marine" so don't think it will be fine on deck cos it won't be.

Also the Miele is the erm KohiNoor of waashing machines, so you might even get proper thanks for buying this, in the same way as if swmbo bought you a short wheelbase ferrari 250 GTO instead of an Escort van. I am sure they get swank value out of these, and probably yak aboutem in the ladies, or at coffee mornings. Gosh, Mrs Claymore has gotta WT945!! Wow hasit got Novatronic, delayed start, single outlet and single inlet? Smirk. Course it has. With luck she will want to come boating more often to use the swanky washing machine instead of the thing with a mangle and a stick at home.

Only trub is they are a bit £1000 ish even at a discount shed.

My final domestic appliance story relates to the house move. The lettering and instructions on our machines have mostly all worn off the stainless steel. Also, i have lost/chucked/burnt all the instructions. Servem right for beating down the price.

sometimes it washes someimtes it drys
i have no idea what make it is
but it works
the procedure is leave clothes on the floor 3-4 days later they will return to the spare room pile, cleaned
at the very latest seven days they will be ironed and put away
apprently it involves the laundry pixies who want 20 quid a week

mrs sailbad gets very upset if i question her about laundry so i am unable to offer anymore advice.

Hmm 3 to 4 days, I see I am going to have to change my machine and upgrade to new pixies. Do you have a data sheet for your pixies?

i have Mrs Mop ver 5 interfaced with laundry pixies
We run Mrs Mop once a week

the problem is i have annoying nag messages coming up intermitttently
message normally reads
Max you think everything gets put away by itself.. and then goes on for a bit.

this weekend i ran luxury weekend away including trip to a shoe shop. ( i habve forgotten which version but it was the latest) This normally stops the messages but not for long.

I am going to have to upgrade to Mrs mop v5. from v3! Can this be done without going to MMOP v4??

MMop v3 also consumes £20 per week via SWMBO taking it out of my wallet when not looking.

Now looking for Wallet Firewall v 1.1?

I have recently acquired a Croatian version of Mrs Mop, as well as a Serb one. They're cheap but not compatible, causing frequent crashes. I have to make sure I only run one at the same time. 'Course, the messages are incomprehensible too, but they both work with old operating systems and in all conditions and produce good output. I run them for a total 8 hours a week for about euro 48. Oh, and they're a bit on the large size too, pulling in at a couple of gigas each, so not much good if you're tight for space.
The Italian models I've seen are far snazzier but unreliable and SWMBO won't have it. Something to do with the slack jaw and dribble on my face.
Re: Wallet firewall v. 1.1: it seems to work in humdrum bill-paying situations, but is hopeless in the marine environment.

I would suggest that you install DIY Laundry v.2 this helps considerably with female tempers.
You may need to use Language Service Pack 2.

In addition Advanced Perfume will assist.

I would also delete all contents of Laundry Basket to ensure DIY Laundry is not corrupted.
