Can anyone recommend a reasonable hotel on the South coast, somewhere near Poole for next weekend ?Must allow smokers and our dog, preferably not too expensive. Hopefully we are spending next weekend (Fri-Sat- Sunday night) there for a short break and to enable me to view a potenteial new boat.
Regards Mike

we were in weymouth, and poole, about 3 weeks ago stayed at Upton farm very nice, very very nice, but afraid to do or touch anything !!!!!! why don't you try
villa rosa in weymouth if you use google and insert cottages direct you should be spoilt for choice. if not try weymouth or poole tourist board then you will be inundated. make enq via email and check for hidden charges I.E heating and laundry. and lastly wait for reply from email and leave it as by the thurs prior to departure day we had dozens of late booking deals saving at least £50.00
on the original price
good luck
make sure you try seakers in weymouth as well they were very helpfull i can only speak as i find and at least the saving will pay for the beer!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know about the dog but I couldn't recommend Premier Lodge enough. I haven't stayed in the Poole one but did use the Aberdeen one over xmas. They have, by far, the best beds I have ever seen in a hotel anywhere at any price. You can book at My Project

Sorry to butt in, but on the laterooms thing, you get the name of the hotel, there are some well known ones on there, ring them direct and quote laterooms and save a fortune. I guess they just put up so many rooms for that offer, of course it is pot luck what is put on but I have had £180 rooms for £45 a night including breakfast. It may not have that area this time but bear it in mind, nothing to lose by keeping your options open.

I absolutely agree with Arthur. If it wasn't for smokers, America and UK probably couldn't afford to wage war on Iraq!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Re: Smoking AND a dog

Sorta true, which is why I will be nipping out to my corner shop tobacconist in Adinkerke any day now.

The UK however still makes huge revenues out of tobacco and America, the largest manufacturer of tobacco products in the world. Both countries demonise smokers but derive billions in duty and profit taxes from them. I truly believe that smoking should be illegal. If no one was smoking, we would not even think about it after a few days. I can go for 12-15 hours without a fag on a plane and don't crave one until I'm in the airport terminal. I, of course, realise that my taxes would go up in 2 or 3 tranches. The first to cover the loss of duty, the second to pay for people living longer and the third once they realise that people are still dying of cancer, lung disease and they don't have a scapegoat to blame it on.

Rant over. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif
