Dissappointing visit whilst in St Vaast last weekend. Took for ever for what was really only "OK food", but at gourmet prices. Had a better experience (and at much less money) at Le Marine on the quayside square (behing the "circus ride").

Shame.

P.S. Mr Gosselin, however, goes from strength to strength. An outstanding delicatessan and wine store - pricey, but excellent service.

Oh dear - I have booked in to stay there for three days as a 'treat' for the family following planned crossing in august. Was the food really not good - and did you get any sense of what the hotel is like?

Food was not "bad", simply not up to their usual standard and with the appreciation of the Euro, pretty pricey. (No idea about accommodation).

Have now ventured there (Fuschias)and completely agree with your comments. Also found M Gosselin's deli/wine shop a delight.

Try eating at Cafe Du Port on the quayside, or the 'yacht club' round at the pontoon side of the marina.
