Surecal calorifiers are reasonable quality and value. I fitted one 2 or 3 years ago. They come with a thermostatic mixer valve, which conserves hot water.

I have an Isotemp, typical Italian engineering, elegant and shiny at first glance but all thin metal and sharp edges underneath. It depends on a rubber ring gasket over a razor sharp stainless steel edge to access the heating tubes. When I was contemplating replacing it at two years old I had decided on the Surecal as being a straightforward design. made in UK (or at least the Isle of Wight) and reasonable value. However I have managed to bodge up the leaks with Sikaflex 291 so the Isotemp is still in use.

Thanks for your answers, all very helpful I was rather hoping to find one that will go straight in with the pipework in the same place as the old one, It is on a Westerly Corsair and is the original it is approx 43 cm high and approx 38 cm dia I feel sure the original manufactures are out there somewhere, I did fine a site somewhere where they make it so suit the installation.

try Cleghorn Wariing's website, they were fitted to the majority of UK built yachts of that vintage.
