Hot gin and tonic

Dry ice would be great. until you went to start the engine. CO2 is heavier than air, it would sink into the bilges and would prevent the engine getting oxygen,

Unless you contrived some kind of outboard vent for the gas and perhaps some kind of bilge blower....

Here's a good one to watch about dry ice. Many years ago I had a boat with one of those all-electric refrigerators, working on the Pelten(?) principle. Before going on a summer cruise I brought home a box of card-ice to give the refrigerator a boost and ensure that food stayed frozen for a couple of days. Unfortunately, the temperature of the card-ice was too low, and it burnt (froze?) out the unit. Had to buy a replacement unit.

In Oz the Esky is the way to go i.e. an ice box using ice. The better insulated ones will keep the ice frozen for 3-4 days, but there again ice is easily obtainable in Oz. If you freeze some of your beers/tonics they will maintain the cold of the ice box and prolong the life of the ice.

Keeping beer cold in Oz is a national pastime!
