Surprised I got this in first! Thames Estuary ship's crew locked in bridge amid 'threats from stowaways'

That may be why they have brought charges.
Typically the person claims to be from a red-list country - Somalia is very common - because we can't repatriate people to countries that are deemed systemically unsafe.
