The luff of your jib still isn't tight enough. Just a tad more will do it and you will be able to point about half a degree higher (if you ever bother going to windward that is)
from what I hear, the wind direction changes all the time on windymear so if you time it right you can stay on the same tack all day /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Couldn't be arsed. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
Some days you want it just right. Other days you , well, you don't.
Trouble is I usually take my camera on those days. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
There was me and 3 other yachts and 2 mobos out there.
I have sailed a round trip on one beat. Trouble is you can't plan it. Wind moves and you follow it. Sometimes it's the opposite and you're tacking all the time just to keep going in the same direction.
Good to see some of my high level aircraft have been trying their best to ruin your blue sky with their con trails!!! That's wht "Lakey" is a great upper airway navigational fix!!
I'm pretty certain (if I remember rightly) I was lucky enough to have one with two-sided ratchets and pawls I could turn over to alter the direction of rotation.
If I'm wrong it must have been my last boat.
However I think that was the case. I'll check on that next time I'm out.
