Hope i got it this time

Hi Cannon.

Looks a cheerful and tough little boat, and I hope you get a lot of fun with her !

What is it you are needing please ? What sails have you got ? It looks as if you could be setting a cutter rig, but is the mast set up for a gaff or bermudan mainsl ?

Don't recognise the marque, though.

Ah, there it is.

Sorry can't say I know what boat it is.

You've got two stays at the front - one to the masthead from the bowsprit, opposed by the backstay to the same place, maybe? The runners then will oppose the strain from forestay going from stemhead to lower down mast. Dunno if your researches have revealed that normally only need to set up windward one.

Well it adds to the chores when going about. I'm sure chaps on here have got better and more recent experience than me but long time ago on a little gaff cutter I managed to set up the lee runner before shoving the tiller over and then doing the staysail sheets. By the time i got round to jib sheets it was aback but that helped to keep her on new tack until I got back to tiller, after slacking new lee runner. Maybe some string to hold tiller in correct position would help. Course with a gaffer the runners are a bit more crucial for holding things up. I'm sure someone else can give a more refined procedure.
