Hope Cove stinks

So.........were there any smells? I suspect they knew that you were coming and had a few nights off:)
I’m anchored there right now. Was a bit wiffy earlier but could have been seaweed. Plenty of water sport folk in and on the water, I guess they wouldn’t be there if they thought/knew raw sewage was being released.

Thanks for the update. Overnight is the key. No sleep for you! :)...... But the essential point is that the holidaymakers don't know what they are swimming in.............They rely on the water company to do their job properly. I suspect the water company only discharge sewage during the night when they are overloaded and nobody is likely to see the result until some of it has cleared with the tide or sunk to the bottom.
I bet the Hope Cove lobsters are tasty!

Slept well, no smell when we returned to the boat after a pleasant few hours in the Hope and Anchor, and nothing smelly this morning when we left for the Yealm.

In the 90's we were in the South of France near St Tropez at Tahiti beach. Big motor yachts in the bay, lots of beautiful people etc. I went swimming out in clear azure water, up to the point where I reached a tideline of floating turds, tampons etc. Close mouth, don't lick your lips and retreat. What a shithole.
