Hi all,new to boating and a first on here saw them in mbm mag, what do you know about this new fender hook system as we are about to buy some fender baskets and like the look, simpleness in the way they fit for my wife and children to use . please be gentle with me:D!

Welcome! They fit on easy, but then they falll off easier still! Can't beat a turn with 2 half hitches in my book. Get a bit of rope and have an evenings practice, it's very therapeutic and'll keep the wife a kids good for hours!

I agree with Philiz, stick with a turn and 2 half hitches, some of these so called aids are more trouble than there worth.

hello hanko
I understand your need for a easy storage and safe clear deck, thats why we came up with this easy way of storing fenders and ropes, with out the need to take off and reset everytime you use your boat, there come as a standed size but then you alter each hook to fit your stantion cable or you can use the straps to fit. I will send you a pm with my phone number, here are a few pictures to show how there work

What an ugly mess, they would definitely bounce off those hooks on my boat.

What you need is a specially trained Jack Russel.
Here in Turkey a skipper friend of mine has such an animal.

Jack ( for that is the dogs name) will happily drag all fenders in, then take a tour around the deck to check his workmanship.

As he is not able to to trim sails or take the helm, and does not want to get bored on the trip, he will then carefully put them all out again. Tour the deck and check on his workmanship.

Then... yes you guessed... repeat until boat reaches the pontoon.

The trick is to make sure that you arrive just as he has put them all out again.

I tell the truth, honestly. Must get pictures next trip to prove it.

Well I worked with an old RN bunting ****** and he gave me a box of genuine Admiralty, gunmetal Inglefield Clips.

One half tied on to my rail with a bit of fender line and bowline knot, t'other half fastened to my fenders with a bit of line. Easy to clip on and off, almost impossible to come apart accidentally and have their own built in swivel.

No problems yet and if they'll hold a large ensign on the staff of HMS Ark Royal in a tropical storm without coming undone, they'll hang my fenders ok.

Hookers

Hi, we purchased a set of hookers at the start of this season, and found them very easy to use, and they saved my family a lot of hassle going in and out of locks, marinas etc. I have had no problem with them coming off, even in big seas. You can slightly crimp the top of the hook if you want to keep them on permanently, but I like to take them off once the fenders are down and we are remaining in the marina for a while. With the ease, cost and safety for my family i think these are a great idea, and wouldn't be without them.

I have also used these hooks to suspend the shore power lead, to keep it off the side decks.

thank you for all your help, purchased fender hookers and some rope holders followed the fitting instructions and all working fine we love them what a clever idea :)
