I may have to order a new roller genoa for my Konsort for the coming season. Has anybody had problems with products manufactured by Hong Kong sails? - their quote is very competitive!

I believe that there have been problems with the way that the UV strip is secured to the sail, in that it is an integral part of the sail, rather than an add on that is easy to replace. This problem only shows up after a few years when you need to replace the UV strip. I suspect that you would not get tell tails either. (you gets what you pays for!) Neither of these are really big problems as you could always order the genoa without a UV strip and get it sewn on in UK. - Have you a quote from ARUN, as I have always found them to be competitive.

I bought my cruising chute from them and it has been very good though the snuffer occasionally gets tangled up. Though I understand that this is a problem with snuffers in general...

Personally I prefer to get my principal sails (main etc) from a local supplier because although I have to pay more I also get on the spot after sale service. This is more important for rolling sails which need to fit properly. The cruiser is less critical so I was happier to buy it unseen.
