FYI the inner harbour is currently closed at Honfleur in case anyone is visiting. Seems they had a bit of an emergency with a building so half the square is also closed.
Extremely hot too, we had to put the bimini up.

There are 3 buildings on the Quai Ste Catherine in imminent danger of collapse, so a lot of the flats have been evacuated and many businesses have had to close.

Thanks I was very curious as it looks quite serious. We were surprised how wide the fencing was placed around the buildings.

Visitor pontoon still very much in use and very pleasant once the sun calms down.

Great place. I purchased part of France’s artistic heritage at an atelier near the harbour, at least, that is how the artist described it. It cost about £4. Honfleur was also the first place that I had a chance to sample really good Calvados, at a bar alongside the harbour, with an evening coffee.

Yes Calvados is on the list, we tried at least half of the Scotch last year 😂 I’ve not seen any sensible list of what’s good though

With Calvados it’s all about quality rather than age. Older Calvados, 15 years or hors d’Age can be lovely but young, 5 years or even white Calvados from a good maker can also be good. We had some tastings when buying from a caves in the town square in Dives, and the differences were clear. Basically, buy from a good source rather than a tourist shop. Expect to pay something like malt whisky prices.
