Honest advice

Oh, go on. It'll give us something to read over the weekend which looks like being blown/rained out yet again.

Wish I could but my patience is limited & it dos'nt extend to writing what would be a small novel with a lot of detail, sorry.
Go out sailing!Cracking day here with plenty of wind & If I had my boat back I think I would be sorely tempted.

Last time I was in South Africa (mid 90's) I was picked up in a BMW to which the driver had fitted two mini flame throwers. Apparently, of we were car jacked they got dettered by a flaming jet.

Glad to say I never saw it used. Kept the windows closed though!

Suffice that was the last time I visited SA on business, or for anything else for that matter.

Way to go ....... :D  ;)

Sorry for the delay in posting.
I have read all your comments and replys with great interest.
Unfortunately the flame thrower concept is out of the window, i tested it on a rib and to be honest, the results werent pretty.
My system i didnt invent, its available but does need to be professionaly installed and set up. As well as maintained on a yearly basis to make sure it functions correctly. The concept is very new though. With a bit of tweaking im sure it will be a perfect security solution for the marine world (if tests are successful). The idea is that movement or something being removed will trigger a camera which will record 10secs of footage then send it to a mobile phone.
Like i say, im not sure it will take off due to the cost of installation and maintaining. Its the same as an alarm in a house or business, except it will cut the false alarm rate massively.
The only way i can find out is if marine folk like yourselves think there is a call for it. Please let me know.
