Honda outboard issues

Iv a Honda bf20 4 stroke when motoring the engine lost drive and water cooling it looks like main shaft from engine to gearbox isn’t spinning motor runs fine but won’t engage gear any thoughts I can’t get boat out for a week due to slipway still in lockdown

has the gear change rod that goes down the leg fallen apart. Should be sited around the point you would split the gear box from the leg.
That would explain the loss of drive but not the loss of cooling water that should still be showing even in neutral.
Sounds like the impeller has gone as well.

Impeller sits on top of the gearbox and is rotated by the drive shaft so if the drive shaft has broken.....no gear and no water.

Cant you get the boat to a pontoon and lift the engine off? My honda 30 goes into the back of my car and I take it to a main dealer near where I live for a service. It takes two of us to lift it around though, and as we get older the engine is putting on weight!
