Honda BF2 2hp head gasket gone

So glad i sold my bf2 after 8 hrs use.....nothing but trouble......funny how other honda stuff is good.

So why should an engine designed to power a small lawn mower be so bad at powering a small outboard engine /

My lawn mower dates from around 1950. Still goes fine!

They are good little engines, never had any trouble. Was made in 1995, so it is not surprise to find that it needs a new head gasket. Actually, one of the cylinder head studs sheared off and as result, the gasket burned at that point.

Vics, Yes, I and the boat were based in Wales for many years, but a few months ago, boat and family relocated, to due to work. I have just changed my profile.

Blimey, I thought the words Honda and Head Gasket failure, went together like Politicians and honesty..

I always tend to assume (or hope) that Honda engines are as reliable as a piece of rock!

They are! Its just that Csail was abused by a Honda as a child and part of the rehabilitation programme is to hit back at 2b hondas whenever possible
