Hi
I thought the plug was NGKCR4HSB but I must be missing something because the one I ordered online does not look right.
I need it quickly now.
Is there a Halfords one I could pop in and get tomorrow?
I think the outboard was bought in 2014 if that helps.

Thanks as always

CR4HSB is certainly one of the plugs I find in th e parts list for serial numbers BAVJ-2300001 to BAVJ- 9999999.
U14FSR-UB ( a Denso number) is also listed for this serial number range

For serial numbers BABC-1000001 to BABC-1099999
LR4C-E is the listed plug

In what way does the new plug differ from the old? Whats the number on the new one ? What make is it ?
What is your engine serial number?
What plug is specified in your owners manual.
Mislaid the manual? Download one from Honda | Owner's Manual Download | Power Equipment

Halfords do not seem to sell anything suitable.

The manual specifies the CR4HSB and the Denso U14FSR-UB.
I don't know the engine no and the outboard is not here.
The one I ordered was very skinny. I looked at the invoice. It specifies CR4HS.
So, obviously the wrong one. Human error (mine, I think).
I ordered CR4HSB from Amazon. Not the cheapest but should get here by tomorrow morning.

Thanks again Vic.

The "B" on the end indicates "special design" so neither of us is any the wiser . I reckon either would be Ok because all the other features are the same Big difference in price though... good job you dont have a V6

I'd guess CR4HS means the same electrodes, and the B means different thread size?

No they are both the same thread size C= 10mm
both the same reach H= 1/2" (12.7mm)
Both are resistor suppressed (R)
both have a copper cored centre electrode (S)

Go to a proper motor factors', not Halfords, and ask for the Denso or NGK one specified in the manual. If they don't have those brands in stock they will be able to refer to a table of equivalents and give you a suitable one. ( Likewise for oil and fuel filters, so that you are not paying for automotive filters with an extra coat of paint and the logo of your inboard engine's manufacturer).
I will tell you what spark plug is in my Honda 2.3, but it must wait until tomorrow as I am in bed now.
