yes i know they are shite mine needs running in with fresh petrol ,so with it being air cooled could i run it on its bracket on the stern ,just an idea that buzzin around the marina ,roy
I got mine so I could run it out of water, and there's this local bloke who runs his long before he gets the boat down the ramp, but I think you are not supposed to as the gear case gets too hot. I think occasional light use is ok, like trying to launch from a beach etc.yes i know they are shite mine needs running in with fresh petrol ,so with it being air cooled could i run it on its bracket on the stern ,just an idea that buzzin around the marina ,roy
You're right it's the exhaust that gets too hotYou can run it out of the water
There is no impeller
Bear in mind it will get hot more quickly than if it was moving, ie there will be less air flow. That is why there will be a warning in the owners manual maybe
The exhaust port/outlet is normally kept cool by water (externally) obviously so that area will get hotter more quickly too.
The gearbox is only activated when you 'blip' the throttle due to the centrifugal clutch
You say it needs running in
Why?
