Homeward Bound - Geoffs is on the move again.

Look who I saw at Bell Weir

Was good to have a chance to say hello, even if it was only a quick chat as the lock emptied.

Saw your boat down at Hampton Court on our way back on Sunday but no sign of life on board.

Hope the weather improves soon for you return trip, yesterday certainly wasn't the weather to be out on a boat.

Darren.

Couple of nice photos, Darren. I wanted one of the boat and the golden gates but couldn't fit all in from where I could photo.

I'm at East Cowes at the moment using a computer courtesey of Dean and Reddyhof. Back to Poole tomorrow, Friday, and the end of the adventure. Did Limehouse to Brighton in one hop, 150nm, as weather was so good on Tuesday, after the aweful Monday.

Can't post any more photos from here, will have to wait 'til I get home.

That's some going single handed you must have been knackered.
Hadn't you better translate NM into Km for the EA. They are under the impression boats use Km. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Happy to email the original slightly better picture if you want to PM me an address to send it to.

Left Limehouse about 9:00am at Brighton 5 ish. Went slowly down the river London VTS watching us all the way, I was follwing a Broom and they kept telling other traffic about the two targets they were tracking. They'd been a bit p 'd off by a Fairline Targa (not Brad!) travelling at hump speed kicking up one hell of a wash.

I opened up a couple of miles down from QE II. Pottered around off Ramsgate for 1/4 hr or so trying to decide if I should go for Brighton. Glad I did.

Especially as your home isn't that far away. If you like you can pop over and take us all to dinner at the Beetle & Wedge some time.

Re: Home Now

Thanks all, all a bit mundane being home /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I must say I was impressed how the D4 performed, I can say that now I'm home, it was tempting fate before. 45hrs at not much more than tickover on the river. Out into the estuary, opened up, not a whisp of smoke. And did about 10 mpg at river speed.

Got a serviced booked next week, I reckon it deserves it after 704nm, gawd knows what that is in Km.

Re: Wot not to do on the Thames

Oh I don't know, what with the flow rate we've had this last week some boats were doing that standing still!
