Er don't tell the owner I gave it the berries though will you /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, actually a very nice yacht, huge amount of space inside, four double cabins and oodles of buttons to play with, man you should see the plasma screen in the saloon, worth more than my boat! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well it had to be the pearl 60. saw it at the southampton boat show the year before last and fell in love with it! if i ever win the lottery that is what im getting!

....you're right there - whoever designed it must have had a thing for the 1957 Chevrolet Impala - enter it for the ugly boat competition!
I'm surprised they sell any at all - presumably they think it looks nice tied up in a marina so owners can sit in the cockpit while people look at them!

Like the plasma screen - but not half as impressive as Bjorg III which I walked past in St Kat's the other day - they have a screen on the rear deck. When not in normal use, it has a slide show of beaches etc. Show off way to make people look at your holiday snaps if you ask me.

saw you waiting on the east link bridge to lift for you, looked great,i see the boat in malahide all the time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Note to Pearl: \"AFT\" is not an abbreviation

It appears to have a full stop after the "AFT" legend for the bilge pump light. Jeeze, you'd think on a £1million pound boat they could get the punctuation right on the dashboard... :-)

Re: Note to Pearl: \"AFT\" is not an abbreviation

Yes and note the rudder gauge, I was helming straight but not according to the rudder angle /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif, sure it was just an set up thing though, bit disconcerting though first time out!.

Don\'t read unless you can handle esoteric pedantry

Oops I'm happy to stand corrected (and apologies to Pearl) by someone who has built a Feadship (btw, your #787 was bought by Mr L, but I guess you're up to date on that?)

From your post you seem to be saying "aft" is an adverb and "after" is an adjective. Therefore when "aft" is used as an adjective it's an abbreviation so should be "aft.". Is that how Feadship do it?

All that said, the Collins big dictionary (only one i have to hand) doesn't agree (though, I'm not claiming they have to be right). It says "aft" is both an adjective and an adverb. So "Aft Bilge Pump" would be correct, not "Aft. Bilge Pump"

It also says "after" in the nautical sense means "further aft" and they give the example "after cabin". That doesn't quite work as an example, so I'm not at all sure they have it quite right with after...

In fairness though you can configure the interior quite a few ways and the choice of wood and finishes is mind boggling, perhaps the owner of this one has his own personal preference.

My only comment against the boat (interior choice aside) is the helm position is not very friendly if you are a lanky git like me, your knees are stuck under the dash and you crack them every time you go through a lumpy bit, secondly the companionway down to the three forward cabins is set too far back into the saloon so at sea if you wander from the port side seating area opposite the helm to the helm area you disappear down the companionway with a ruddy great thump. Still with the amount of semi customisation available you could probably change that.

Still, she offers a tremendous amount of space for a boat with 50' waterline, downside to the aft cabin layout though is no big lazerette or storage for fenders they have to live in fender baskets. I believe in the charter market they sell extremely well cus you get four cabins in what normally would be a three cabin boat.
