November the 5th, The good lady and myself finish for 9days holiday.
I suggested we maybe try and do some yacht training in the Clyde and up the West coast, but that didn't go down too well, She wants something a bit warmer and to do nothing.

Can anyone recommend a descent sunshine holiday accomodation or destination for recouperation and relaxation somewhere in the Med, SOF or basically near the water, for that time of year that will still give us a descent bit of weather???
Remember i'm a Scot, so it has to be cheap!!/forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Sorry for the N.B post.

Mind you it wouldn't be a Non-Boaty post, if i can include sailind into the hoilday./forums/images/icons/smile.gif/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Cheers

Alistair.

Canary Islands. Good weather all year round. average sea temp for winter is between 19-22 deg. Average temp between seasons only varies about 6 deg.
Cheap too.

You can find some very good deals to the Red Sea at that time of year. Bit further than your ideal but guaranteed sunshine and warm clear water.

Hi Gramps, How are you doin????/forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Ok, So far Barcelona has just made it to the top of my list,,, Just so as i can buy you those beers and bring you some Haggis, also to give you a hand to dent that whiskey collection of yours.
Unfortunatly its well down the wifes list of places to go. But i'll keep trying her on it.

So how long will you be in Barcelona for??? And when do you go back to work???

Mike and Kev, thanks for the suggestions, i'll look into those as well.

Cheers.

Red Sea is somewhere we would both like to go, Maybe a bit far for just a week,
but we do enjoy flying, so how long a flight is it????
Had a search for deals on the net, the prices are not too bad, but i couldn't find any direct flights outta Glasgow, so would need to connect out of a London Airport, that just adds to time and money.

Red Sea (Hurghada) is about a 5 hour flight. The best I can find for you is Manchester but that leaves at 10:00 a.m. on the 5th and I guess you're still in work then?

I looked at a site called http://www.regal-diving.co.uk who as their name suggests specialise in diving holidays but I've been with them and not dived.

I doubt if that's of any use to you but I did try.

All the best.

I thought you lot only ever went to Blackpool for "Glasgae Fair" week /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Southern Spain would be good, loads of flights to Malaga, cheap accomodation on the internet and nice marina's (Banus etc) to look at boats.

Could even go and meet Sun Coast

Might not be any use to you Al, but a business associate of mine has recently bought a lovely home in Florida and rents it out. It has room for 8 people and a shared pool, about ten minutes from Disney. He is in Holland on biz right now but home on 11th Oct if you want more details. Cheers. Roy

YOU LOT!!!!!/forums/images/icons/mad.gif What lot would that be??? Us Scots or the People of Glasgae??? And the Glasgae people DON'T go to Blackpool, they got to Saltcoats!!!!

And BTW, i Ain't from Glasgae, i only work there, I'm an Ayrshire boy, just like my good mate jimi.

The flights are the easy bit to find, its good accomodation thats difficult to come by.

Its definately somewhere i'd like to go too at sometime.

Here we go, I've got to try and do a link again.

here

Although they are a specialist diving site, you don't have to go diving.

Loads of apartments on the internet. We got one on a residential rather than holiday development a couple of years ago. I will ask SWMBO tonight if she can remember the details. It was an excellent place about ten minutes to Banus and right on thre beach (no motorway to cross!)

Sorry about the sleight on your character by grouping you with Glaswegians :)

La Gomera ( Canaries )

SWMBO and I went and did a Day Skipper ( sail) course here last November.. Incredible place, weather , sea , not built-up island... it was also a holiday in that we did what we wnted much of the time (7 days not 5 for the course)
