I know my reports are sparse compared to some of the tremendous efforts from some so I hope my Anchorage lat and long helps others to explore

thats right, is it the angle or is the brand new castle absent from the photo ?

We went between the Islands at low water so we could see the rocks, great place and very popular.

Not as nice as the Scilies but we missed a week of the holiday with the bad weather but just about perfect now /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am loosing the signal as the tide drops so may have to sign off now.

I saw the Yellow bouys but couldnt see anywhere to land the tender, is there a Taxi .

Think the castle was just 'missing' because of the angle. You can just see it on the fullsize version poking out of the top of Brecqhou.

I don't think there is a water taxi - you can land at some steps which are hidden from the anchorage, just around a corner. Best use a long painter though!

Looks a bit different to when i visited a few weeks back. the swell was orrid made it very rolly on the buoy, so went to the NE side of the island.

Anybody been through the gap in between the islands in the picture ?

I thought about it but giving the weather condition thought it was a bad idea... there is actually lots of depth on the chart.

Our convoy (djefabs, hurricane, RogerRat and ourselves) went through. Can't remember if Jez came through that way, or round the other way though. Loads of room and depth as you say. Plenty of other locals did too.

In fact, if this track works - zoom in on Sark and you'll see our track in and out the next day.

Not sure I'd fancy it if there was any sea running though...

No I didn't go through., I was happily dawdling along on one engine (intentional) enjopying the sunshine.

Also meant you lot had got the raft sorted by the time I tunred up. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
 
Gouliot passage is usually fine with care - wasn't so long ago Class 1 powerboats were racing through at 80+ knots! Impressive when the tide is rushing through, you can convince yourself you can see the slope on the water - so look out for irish downhill waterskiers!

That speed not recommended, mind you!

Is it only me that finds images from that pdb1.co.uk site very slow to load? Most images load in milliseconds - but your pictures take 42 seconds in one case, and never less than 20 seconds...

Better than my web provider, Rick.

I was going to put the pics of our little raft up but the ISP I use for my web space has completely *ucked things up and there isnt a service at all at the moment. So a slow one is better than none I'm sure.

I know I should have used something else out there but I found this easy at the time and I've continued using it. If I wasnt about to move house, I'd change my provider now but I dont want any hassle.
